Post Date:03/31/2026 7:19 PMWith the arrival of beautiful Spring weather and more Radnor residents heading outside to enjoy it, Radnor Township has launched a Spring-Cleaning Program initiated by South Wayne, Ward 3 Commissioner Catherine Agnew.
This program aimed at making Downtown Wayne the cleanest Main Street on the Main Line, began on March 26 with a thorough cleaning of all sidewalks and curblines of debris by the Radnor Public Works Department. This will be a month long, multi-phase spring clean-up so please pardon our mess as we get to work!
Phase 1a: North & South Wayne Ave., beginning Monday, March 30
PW Highway Division will repair curb and level bricks to improve visual aesthetic and safety. Work will take place during the day; the work zone will be blocked off. Estimated 1-2 weeks for project completion.
Phase 1b: North & South Wayne Ave. and West Ave., beginning Monday, March 30
PW Parks Maintenance will pressure wash sidewalks. Work will take place from 4am - 6:30am. Estimated 1 week for project completion.
Phase 2a: East & West Lancaster Ave., beginning after completion of Phase 1a
PW Highway Division will repair curb and level bricks to improve visual aesthetic and safety. Work will take place during the day; the work zone will be blocked off. Estimated 1-2 weeks for project completion.
Phase 2b: East & West Lancaster Ave., beginning after completion of Phase 1b
PW Parks Maintenance will pressure wash sidewalks. Work will take place from 4am - 6:30am. Estimated 1 week for project completion.
Phase 3: All tree beds will be mulched following the completion of Phase 1 & 2. And all beds will be monitored for weeding.
Important Project FYI’S
• PW Highway Division work involving concrete/curb repair will be sectioned off to prevent pedestrian access and to allow for dry time. This is a temporary curb fix, not a permanent repair as the entire curb is not being replaced.
• PW Parks Division pressure washing will involve environmentally and stormwater safe chemicals.
• Gum stuck to cement blocks may NOT come up. The goal is to clean/ brighten up the cement blocks, which we hope will make a positive visual impact for visitors.
• The sections of red bricks on Louella Ct. and Lancaster Ave. are out of scope of this project.
Attention to Detail...
• PW Sewer crews will monitor the sewer main to ensure consistent flowing to reduce backups.
• 3x/week, PW Sanitation will resume leaf clearing sidewalks and trash removal in Downtown Wayne.
• Every other Monday, PW Sanitation will pressure wash the trash receptacles and replace trash can liners in Downtown Wayne.
• Every Friday, PW Highway will resume weekly street sweeping in conjunction with PW Sanitation in Downtown Wayne.
Thank you Radnor Public Works for your professional versatility and commitment to Radnor Residents and Businesses!!
