Moira Mulroney, Esq. is the Commissioner for Ward 5. She works as the Director of Development & Communications for the Support Center for Child Advocates (Child Advocates), Philadelphia’s legal aid and social services agency serving abused and neglected children.
Moira previously served as the Director of Philanthropic Gifts at WXPN, Philadelphia’s public radio music station from the University of Pennsylvania and was the Director of Grants at the Philadelphia Zoo. Prior to her fundraising career, Moira was an Assistant District Attorney with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she served in the Legislation Unit, working for the passage of crime laws and advocating for victim’s rights in order to improve the criminal justice system in Pennsylvania. She has a B.A. in English from Boston College and her J.D. from Villanova School of Law.
Moira is a Child Advocates volunteer attorney, representing a child client with special needs. She was a member of the William Way LGBT Community Center Board of Directors, a Lantern Theater Company gala co-chair, a member of the Villanova Law School reunion committee, and she is a volunteer “foster” with Finding Shelter animal rescue organization.
In 2009, Moira moved to Bryn Mawr with her husband, her stepson (Radnor ’16) and their two rescue dogs. For fun, Moira plays the cello and rides a 1979 BMW motorcycle, when it’s not broken down.
