February 2021: Radnor TAP Trail Construction Update

radnor green ways

We are pleased to announce the Radnor TAP Trail construction will break ground Winter 2021! The trail will provide a 5-mile north/south circuit route through almost all of the Township with connectivity to Haverford Township, creating a nearly 7.6-mile on-road and off-road bicycle and pedestrian route. A portion of the TAP trail will connect the Radnor Trail at Radnor Chester Road with the Radnor High School and the Radnor SEPTA Train Station. These improvements will enhance pedestrian and bicycle facilities, improve access to public transportation, create trails that serve a transportation purpose, offer a safe walk to school route, and promote safety and mobility in our community.

Please note contractor signage will be installed the week of February 7, 2021 along Lancaster Avenue near Radnor High School noting that there will be lane closures within two weeks. Construction is scheduled to start the week of February 22, 2021 and is expected to take four months. There will temporary disruption of traffic along the connection routes, but no extended road closures are anticipated.

Many thanks to the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners, the Radnor Township Manager, the Radnor Township School District Board of Directors, PENN Medicine, Cornerstone HOA and Radnor Township Department of Engineering. These trusted partnerships have been instrumental in bringing the Radnor Greenways and Open Space Network Plan, specifically the Radnor TAP Trail, to fruition. Please stay tuned for forthcoming project details and traffic/ site specific updates. Should there be any questions or concerns, please email for project inquiries.
