Last year, at the direction of the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners, Radnor Township launched a collaborative effort with the Township Arborist and the Shade Tree Commission to provide a more transparent tree maintenance program for our community. Now, as dangerous trees are reported and certified by the Arborist, the Township Public Works Department seeks Board of Commissioner authorization for tree removal, pruning, stump grinding and site restoration at various locations in Radnor Township. Due to the lack of tree removal equipment and manpower, this work is awarded to a third-party contractor through a public bidding and approval process.
In October 2020, with the Board of Commissioners approval, the Public Works Department received sealed bids. After reviewing the bids, Township Board of Commissioners awarded the tree removal, pruning and stump grinding contract to Jimmy’s Tree and Landscaping Contractors, LLC and authorized work to begin as soon as possible (within 120 days). That work has now commenced with the following anticipated schedule:
Week of January 10, 2021

Roberts Road
Pine Tree Road

** In the event of inclement weather, only the jobs scheduled for said day would be affected. They will be rescheduled for a later date and the rest of the schedule would continue as planned.
As the project progresses across town, please travel safely in the area of road detours. Should there be any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Radnor Township Public Works Department at 610.688.5600 x181.
