[ARCHIVED] WBOD Improvement Project: Phase 2 Schedule Revision

As funded by the Radnor Township Board of Commissioners, and in conjunction with the Wayne Business Association, the Wayne Business Overlay District (WBOD) will benefit from a multiphase resurfacing and tree planting project that began September 9, 2019. Phase one included the removal of approximately 40 trees and their stumps in the Lancaster Ave. and North Wayne/ South Wayne Ave. area. The project will now focus on pavement repairs and beautification after the area experienced some cracked and buckling sidewalks as the result of inappropriately sized trees. There will also be the addition of ADA compliant ramps and the widening of parking spots for ease of access in the WBOD corridor. Later in the project, 66 size and specimen appropriate trees will be replanted.

The second phase of the WBOD Milling and Paving Schedule has been revised as follows:

Friday, Oct. 4 – Pave N. Wayne Ave.

Monday, Oct. 7 – Mill Lancaster Ave. (northside, west of N. Wayne)

Tuesday, Oct. 8 – Pave Lancaster Ave.

Wednesday, Oct. 9 – Mill Lancaster Ave. (south side, west of S. Wayne) & W. Wayne

Thursday, Oct. 10 – Pave Lancaster Ave. & W. Wayne Ave.

  • There will be no parking in these areas between roughly 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM when work is underway.
  • We will follow the normal inspection services schedule at these times.

Please note all work is weather dependent.

Thank you to all of our Wayne neighbors, both business and residential, for your continued support and patience during the scope of the project.
