[ARCHIVED] Update on the Excessive Heat through the Weekend

ExcessiveHeat_July192019_5am_Page_1

NWS Mt. Holly has updated excessive heat conditions for this week. The next three days will be the worst of this heat wave. Please stay healthy and cool during the time. The Radnor Police Department is open for any heat emergencies 24/7 through the weekend. Just reach out to 911 if there is a need.

Event Summary:

  • Dangerously hot conditions are expected through Sunday. The highest heat index values are expected to occur on Saturday and Sunday where widespread areas will experience maximum heat index values of 105 degrees or greater.
  • An Excessive Heat Warning is now in effect for the entire area from noon Friday through 10PM Sunday. Note that in the urban corridor the existing Excessive Heat Warning remains in effect.
  • Overnight lows in the urban corridor will be in the upper 70s to around 80. The most urbanized areas will not drop below 80 degrees both Friday and Saturday nights. As a result, there will be little relief overnight from the dangerously hot conditions.
