RADNOR, PA (June 25, 2019) – The fifth annual WXPN Welcomes the Wayne Music Festival took place on June 8 from 2-11pm at the intersection of North Wayne and West Wayne Avenues in Wayne, PA. The Festival is a free event for the residents of Radnor and attendee’s region-wide. The day show highlights local and regional acts, 3 stages as well as local restaurants, vendors and beer gardens.
“With over 50 local businesses showcasing their products and services at the event, the festival has grown into an amazing way to enjoy great music from international, national, regional and local bands; great food from Wayne-based restaurants and great interaction with township businesses and residents; all while enjoying all that Wayne has to offer and raising money that benefits children’s medical charities,” said Ken Kearns, Co-Director WXPN Welcomes the Wayne Music Festival and Owner, 118 North.
This year’s event attracted more than 15,000 people to Downtown Wayne to enjoy a wide range of musical genres and artists from all over the country. Other event festivities included a launch party at 118 North the evening before the festival and a fireworks finale after the festival. “I’m hugely proud of the effort that the Township, restaurants, Wayne Business Association, and volunteers put into making the Festival such an enormous success,” said Jack Larkin, Ward 1 Commissioner and Vice President of Radnor Township Board of Commissioners.
The 2019 Wayne Music Festival lineup included: The Wailers, Marah, Bonerama, Vanessa Collier, Molly Martin, Man About a Horse, Brian Collins, Ali Awan, Mutlu, Pawnshop Roses, Chestnut Grove, Kuf Knotz and Christine Elise.
“In its fifth year, the 2019 WXPN Welcomes the Wayne Music Festival built upon the success of our previous years’ events to deliver the best event to date. Not only was the lineup and weather incredible, but our charitable organization, The Music is Love Foundation, was able to raise significant charitable contributions through the event to benefit Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and CureSMA,” said Kearns.
The Music Is Love Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation established by Ken Kearns, Charlie Houder and their families. It is dedicated to organizing and promoting music events to raise money and awareness for children's medical causes. In conjunction with the Music is Love Foundation, this year’s festival raised money for pediatric medical causes.
“We are proud to have been able to use this incredible and safe day of music as a way for our charitable mission to give back to children’s charities through our Music is Love Foundation. We look forward to continuing our success at next year’s event in June 2020. Our township fired on all cylinders and was truly an epic day for all involved,” said Kearns.
