Radnor Township Seeks Code Official back

Radnor Township is currently seeking a "Code Official." The successful applicant will work under the Director of Community Development and report directly to the Codes Administrator.

Essential duties of the Code Official shall include code compliant inspections in accordance with the International Code Council-"ICC"- and other ordinances as adopted by Radnor Township. Perform comprehensive plan review for ICC and zoning compliance. Perform safety inspections relating to construction permits and complaints as they relate to the Property Maintenance Code. Conduct rental housing inspection and investigate quality of life issues.

Candidates must have strong communication and conflict resolution skills and ability to manage a complex work schedule. Should have basic computer and time management skills and must have ability to work without supervision. Candidate must maintain their current certifications and obtain additional certification(s) as directed and authorized by the Code Administrator.

Candidates for this position must be in good physical condition sufficient to handle bending, climbing and other tasks on a regular basis.
 
Certifications:
  • ICC Certification(s) for commercial and residential Building, Plumbing, Mechanical & Energy inspections
  • ICC Certification(s) for commercial and residential Building, Plumbing, Mechanical & Energy plan review
  • ICC certification as an Accessibility Inspector and Plans Examiner
  • ICC Certification as a Housing and Property Maintenance Inspector
  • ICC Certifications as a Fire Inspector 1 & 2

The anticipated starting salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000 per year, subject to employee contract provisions and in line with the candidate's qualifications.

The base salary is supplemented by an excellent fringe benefit package. The applicant hired will be required to successfully complete a comprehensive physical examination, including a screening for alcohol and other drugs, prior to being placed in the position.
