Radnor Township Police Department Crime Alert Armed Robbery The Radnor Township Police Department has issued the following crime alert for an Armed Robbery that occurred at the Wachovia Bank in the Saint David's Section of Radnor Township. On Friday 9/3/2010 at approximately 9:15 AM The Wachovia Bank located at 599 E. Lancaster Avenue in the Saint David's Section of Radnor Township, adjacent to the Radnor Hotel, was robbed at gunpoint.
The suspect, described as black male carrying a blue back pack, entered the bank and pulled out what appeared to be a sawed off shot gun from the back pack and announced he was robbing the bank. The actor walked over to the teller and demanded that the teller put all the money in the backpack while holding the shotgun. The teller complied and placed an undetermined amount of cash in the backpack. The actor then calmly walked out of the bank, placed the gun in the bag with the money, and was last seen walking south through the parking lot towards the Radnor Hotel. A vehicle was not observed.
The actor is described as a black male 18 to 20 years of approximately 5'2" to 5'5" in height and weighing 120-130 lbs. with a very slight build. He was wearing a tan baseball cap, which was on backwards, a white oversized T-Shirt and light gray cargo pants. Attached are video surveillance photos. PUBLIC HEALTH ALERT
On Friday, April 10, 2009 a Fox came in contact with two domestic dogs at different locations in the Briarwood Road and Malin Road area of Radnor Township. This fox later tested positive for the rabies virus. Radnor Township's ordinance Chapter 115 Animals, require that dogs and cats three months of age must be vaccinated for the rabies virus. Anyone whose dog or cat may come into contact with an undomesticated or unfarmiliar animal should clean the wound with warm soap and water and have their pet immediately examined by a veterinarian. Take precautions and do not let your dogs and cats outside unsupervised. Have your pet vaccinated for rabies. Keep shots current at all times. Call the animal control officer or police department when you spot nocturnal animals out in the day time. Do not pet undomesticated or unfamiliar animals. Humans who may be bitten or scratched by an undomesticated or unfamiliar animals or have come into contact with the saliva of your pet after they have encountered an animal suspected of carrying the rabies virus should Wash the wound with warm soap and water. ARMED ROBBERIES-ARREST MADE
The Radnor Township Police Department is pleased to announce an arrest has been made regarding the two robberies of the Sunoco Gas Stations. Through interdepartmental cooperation, a subject was taken into custody and confessed to several armed robberies in the Montgomery, Chester and Delaware County areas including the two robberies of the Sunoco gas stations in the Wayne section of Radnor Township. CRIME ALERT Armed Robbery-516 W Lancaster Avenue-McDonald's Restaurant At approximately 12:01 a.m. Radnor Police were dispatched to the McDonald's located at 516 W Lancaster Avenue for a reported armed robbery. Employees report they were closing the rear door to McDonald's after taking the trash out when one of the employees heard what he described as someone cocking a gun. When he turned around he saw three males with what appeared to be semi-automatic handguns. The subjects ordered him to the ground and entered the store. Once inside they were able to access the safe. Several other employees were ordered to the ground in the kitchen area. After taking money from the safe the actors took three cell phones from employees and fled through the rear door. Police investigation compiled descriptions of the actors as: 1st subject was described as a white male, early 20s, average height and build, wearing a red hoodie, black jeans, homemade black ski mask and displaying a silver semi-automatic handgun. 2nd subject was described as a black male, late teens, average height and build, no clothing description, black cloth wrapped around his head with holes cut out for the eyes, displaying a large black semi-automatic handgun. 3rd subject was described as a black male, early 20s, black hoodie, black jeans, homemade black ski mask, displaying a silver semi-automatic handgun. The actors got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and three cellular phones. CRIME ALERT Strong Arm Robbery-S Wayne Section of Radnor Township On Sunday, October 12, 2008 at approximately 9:38 p.m. the Radnor Township Police were dispatched to the Sunoco at 302 E Lancaster Avenue for a reported strong arm robbery. The clerk described the suspect as a white male, 5'5"-5'6" tall with a stocky build and brown eyes. The robber was wearing a black ski mask, blue sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. The subject left the store on foot and and was last seen running southwest towards St. Katherine's School. The actor implied he had a gun in his right waist band of his pants. The actor got away with an undetermined amount of cash. Detectives responded and processed the crime scene. CRIME ALERT--Armed Robbery Aberdeen Ave @ Lancaster Avenue-Wayne Section Armed Robbery-A-Plus Sunoco On September 28, 2008 at approximately 0432 hrs., the Sunoco A-Plus was robbed by a lone gunman. The gunman was described as a white male between 30-40 years of age, approximately 6'0" with an average build. Additionally, the subject had wrinkles around his eyes and a Filipino accent. The subject was seen wearing blue pants, a black hooded Adidas jacket with white stripes down the sleeves and Addidas written on the front in white letters. The subject was wearing a black ski mask, black gloves, black shoes and brandished a black hand gun. The robber left the store on foot with an undetermined amount of money. CRIME ALERT--Theft from Building Crime Alert------Residential Burglary The resident who, was away from the area, was notified by a neighbor of a suspicious condition regarding his home. The neighbor called advising of an open rear door to the residence. The owner stated it was not how he left the property. The neighbor checked the property and was advised by the owner that the home seemed to be burglarized. The neighbor contacted police. Upon arrival, Radnor Police Officer's checked the interior of the property and no one was found inside, but there were some obvious signs the home had been burglarized. Detectives were dispatched and processed the crime scene. Preliminary investigation revealed the burglary occurred sometime after August 15, 2008 and the time of discovery around 10:00 a.m. on August 16, 2008. Items taken included jewelry and silver. It can be found on the CRIME ALERT ACCIDENTIAL SHOOTING-Valley Forge Military Academy On Thursday, July 17, 2008 at approximately 1055 hours, the Radnor Township Police were dispatched by the Police investigation reveals, an 18 year old camp counselor accidentally shot himself in the foot with a .22 caliber round from a pistol. Shooting at the indoor range is a scheduled camp activity. No campers or other personnel were injured. The accidental shooting occurred at an indoor shooting range on the campus of The investigation is currently still in progress. Equip basement and first floor windows with additional security devices. Add limiting pins to windows to prohibit the windows from fully opening. Lock your doors. When working in your yard be careful to lock your doors some burglars roam the neighborhoods and enter homes while you are working in the yard. Shrubbery Keep trees and shrubs pruned away from doors and windows. Don't give burglars a way to hide themselves. Garage Doors Keep your garage doors closed and locked. Many burglars use ladders and tools stored in the garage to gain entry into the home. Lock you car while in the driveway and garage and don't keep house keys in the unlocked vehicles.
